Welcome to A Youth Wasted: The Artwork of Barrett Long.

I am a multi disciplinary artist. In 2011 I graduated from the Alberta Collage of Art + Design in Calgary Alberta with a Bachelors of Fine Arts with Distinction in Print Media. Never content to stick to one medium I branched away from Print during my time at ACAD and in-turn created work within many different disciplines. Most important to me was the Media and Digital Technologies department. It was there I began to explore Digital technologies as a way in which to create.

After taking some time away from the world of academia I was able to find a Masters of Fine Arts program that allowed me to focus upon any number of mediums I wanted all within the department of Electronic Integrated Arts. I am currently within the last semester of my second and final year at Alfred University and will be graduating with my MFA this May. I will be exhibiting my thesis work on April 19th, 2014 at Robert C. Turner Gallery in Alfred., New York in a show titled “Complicit Actuality”.

I am trying to be more proactive in displaying my work as well as promoting events and shows I am a part of so please stay tuned to A Youth Wasted: The Artwork of Barrett Long for all the latest info. You could also follow me on Twitter, Vimeo or Facebook as sometimes due to ease they are updated more often.

Later Days,
